Life as a soldier in Alexander's the Greats army
336 B.C
My name is Pantagathus. Me and the rest of the Macedonia army along with our leader Alexander are about to march and attack Athens, and Sparta. Hopefully Alexander can lead us to victory.
334 B.C
It's been 2 years since we first started off our journey. We all thought this journey would be short and sweet, but king Alexander has kept desiring more and more land to expand. Alexander likes the concept of expanding our cultures, and our ideal type of living.
333 B.C
We have just defeated King Darius III of Persia. This is the biggest victory yet for us the whole army. Alexander has defiantly proven to us that he is a great leader for Macedonia. With his genius military tactics.
332 B.C
We are heading towards Egypt that is our next place to conquer next.
327 B.C
A lot has happened since we took over Egypt. So far we've take over must of Asia
326 B.C
We are all growing tired of invading. Our next destination is Punjab.
326 B.C
We have successfully invaded Punjab. Alexander wants to keep moving, but me along the rest of the Macedonians have go way to far, and are way to tired to continue moving forward. Alexander agreed to stop him and scout out the land that we had previously conquered.
323 B.C
It's been 3 year's since the army stopped conquering land. I have just received the news that our King Alexander has just died of a fever in Babylon.
1. Alexander the
Great has many reasons for gaining his stature, and nickname. For starters he
grew his empire around 3 continents (Persia, Egypt, and part of Asia being his
top accomplishes). This is a great accomplishment even for that time period,
also considering that he was the ruler of Macedonia which was considered as
more of a “Barbaric” country, but even with the title “Barbaric” he
accomplished tremendous feats. While also blending cultures, which in that time
period could have been a hard concept to adapt to, since everyone was so
different at the time. In 333 B.C Alexander defeated King Darius III leader of
the Persian army, which was a big feat to accomplish also earning command of
Persia, which expanded his empire greatly. This is just one of the many
examples to why Alexander the Great does desires the title “the great.”
2. The Macedonians were use to feeling like an outcast of everyone. Being known as barbaric like for not really believing in education or in the "norm" to a Sparta or Athens or anyone for that matter. In my opinion the blending of the cultures for Macedonian was a great thing for them. I feel as if the Macedonians didn't feel as barbaric anymore, and felt in the normal culture. He also did something very important by creating a common language in the area of Asia, this was huge in the way of communication and really helping blend the cultures. While Alexander was conquering places such as Persia he most of the time aloud the place he had just conquered to keep it's culture alive, and often urged his army to marry Persian women and wear Persian clothes to really blend the two cultures together. During the Hellenistic time period Maths, Arts, and Architecture grew around it really improving all of the categories. This are just a few of the many examples of how the blending of the cultures did not only help Alexanders empire, but also helped the rest of the countries.
3. One man that I think best compares to Alexander the Great is George Washington. Both were in a little bit of the same position. Both leaders of there countries that are trying to start up, and find it's place, and both succeed tremendously while being leaders of there country, but while George Washington was trying to start up a country. Alexander the Great was trying to expand his country and develop different culture or ideas. They both displayed incredible leadership to there countries and with out them I don't know how well Macedonian, and the United States would of been off, but one of the main differences between the two was that while Alexander died in his leadership position George Washington opted out of his leadership role. These are a couple of the few comparisons between the two great leaders.

I like how you put the events that your character was involved in when they happened.
