Alexander is the greatest leader I have ever served and
fought with. He is even more brilliant than his father, to whom I was his
“right-hand man.” Alexander succeeded his father when he was only twenty. I
didn’t pay much attention though as I was still grieving his father. He and I
quickly became close and I was let in on how his extraordinary mind thought. He
immediately began to draw up battle plans and think about his moves on Persia.
In the year 334 B.C. only two years after Alexander came to Power we invaded
Persia. Alexander was kind to the people we conquered and even changed his own
ways for theirs at times. He was a very caring leader. As Alexander and I moved
we conquered more and more countries. After we had been moving for ten years we
had conquered land extending all the way to Egypt. The Egyptians Loved
Alexander, they worship him as their god king and even named a city after him.
Alexander military success was without a doubt the greatest I have ever
witnessed. Alexander had a very violent temper though, on several occasion I
thought he might have killed me as he did other officials. He was a paranoid
man as well but with good reason. He was a reckless individual endanger his own
life and our lives as well. Though this may seem bad but he defiantly deserves
to be called great. His military accomplishment outweigh anything he has done.

I really like how you talked about the darker side of Alexander. Many people did not bring up his reckless tendencies. it was interesting how you still thought Alexander a great leader even though he may may have not been the best person in the world.
